From the Indiana Poultry Breeders Show, December 5 & 6, 2009 in Connersville, Indiana.  Grand Champion Large Fowl of the Junior Show a black sumatra hen by Rebekah Payne, a new ASA member.  See pictures of her champion on this site.  Congratulations, Rebekah.

The 2009 Sumatra National Meet was held at the Ohio National Poultry Show, Columbus, Ohio, Nov. 14th-15th. American Sumatra Association officer nominations for 2010/2011 from the club meeting are as follows:  President: Tom Kernan, New Jersey; Vice President: Jane Mallory, Kentucky; Sec/Treas/Newsletter Editor: Doug Akers, Indiana.

In the Junior Show, Best LF Sumatra was a black pullet by Robert Sterner, of Iowa.   Reserve LF Sumatra was a black pullet by Travis Akehurst, Oklahoma.  Champion Bantam and Reserve Bantam Sumatra as well as Jr. National Champion & Res. Champion Sumatras were a black hen and black pullet by Grace Blanch, Indiana. 

In the Open show, the National Champ and Reserve Champion Sumatras were black hens by Tom Kernan, New Jersey.  Champion Bantam Sumatra was by Kevin Blanch, Indiana.      Welcome to  new Sumatra Club Members: G. John Smith, Ohio; Tony Downing, Oklahoma; and the Sterner Family, Iowa.
