Hot News:    The 2010 Sumatra National Meet will be held with the Southern Oho Poultry Association, in Lucasville, Ohio.  The show is also hosting the APA Semi-National.  There will be a silent auction and also sumatra trios will be auctioned, according to Tom Kernan, ASA President.  All proceeds benefit the American Sumatra Association.  Tom has graciously volunteered to sponsor all the Sumatra National awards this year.    

Our next newsletter will be in mid-March.  One announcement in the upcoming newsletter is that American Sumatra Association members may purchase, for the first time, color embroidered patches with the ASA logo.  These can be sown on clothing, caps, etc.  We need show reports from the Jan. & Feb. shows.  None have been received so far.

The December, 2009 newsletter is the most recent one sent to members.  Topics in the 6 page newsletter included: national meet, regional news, club news, color photos, A Home-made Mouse Bait Station, Jr. Member Wins Grand Ch., Handy Websites, Legendary Sumata Breeder, and more….Those wishing to be members, it’s only $10 for one year; $18/2 years; and $25/3 years.  Make checks payable:  American Sumatra Association.  Send to:  Doug Akers, 300 S. 400 W., Lebanon, IN  46052.

Welcome to the 2010 American Sumatra Association website. Please introduce yourself and tell us about your interest in this beautiful breed of chicken. You do not have to be a member of the ASA to participate in this board.
